Welcome to Artography: I’m Stacy Daugherty

Have you ever looked beyond what catches your eye at first glance? Have you wanted to know more about what something was made of, or how it might look from an ant’s perspective? Can you feel light and energy buzzing around you as you go through your day? Well this is how I see and experience the world, and how it is expressed in my artwork.

I’m a Fine Art Photographer who is able to connect with nature on an intuitive and energetic level, bringing you extreme close up imagery with my Macro lens. I provide a perspective that is oftentimes overlooked in our busy lives, prompting you to slow down, immerse and consider new possibilities. Imagining myself as tiny as the specimen I’m photographing enables me to seamlessly shift perspectives. Allowing the essence of the subject to come through while tapping into the feelings I am having are integral to the outcome. By intermingling nature with mind, body and spirit, powerful realizations are inspired. This is part of my creative process; it is here that I’m in my Zen.

So, how did I get here?

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and spent most of my time outdoors as a child, developing a deep curiosity and love for tropical flora and its components. I’ve always been drawn to tiny details...I was, and still am, curious by and about nature. I want to reveal what things look like under the surface. Being in nature gives me a feeling of wonder and discovery. As an intricate miniature landscape comes to life through my lens, I find myself in an unseen world.

Over a decade ago, I created my brand Artography with portrait and commercial clients at the forefront and some creative shooting on the side. It was during these times of exploration that I found my niche in macro photography. Fast forward to 2019 where I shifted into full-time artistry as a Fine Art Photographer, simultaneously becoming a Resident Artist at ArtServe, one of the nation’s original arts incubators, located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Since January 2019, my works have been honored and are showcased in many group and solo exhibits locally. Ongoing collections can be explored in my studio by appointment. Fully customizable works of art are available for residential, corporate and private collectors. A new addition to my appointment offerings is “The Collaboration Experience”. This is tailored to clients who want to be a part of the process and desire a more specialized product. By incorporating factors such as lifestyle, interests, mood, space and design preferences, the resulting artwork is truly personal and one-of-a-kind.
